All is good here in Austin, TX. Except for this July heat. And I don't mean from the music (even thought that has also been very hot lately too.)
I am finally off of the road for a while. I just got back from the west coast and midwest with Hamilton Loomis and Prime Time. We had a ball as usual and left the people wanting more. It is nice to be home for a little while to catch my breath and have some time to work with other bands and pursue my side projects.
One of the highlights of this tour was playing at the Santa Cruz Blues Festival. This is one of the biggest blues festivals on the west coast and one of the best ones in the country. That was my third time performing there and a first for Hamilton and the boys. There is actually a very cool website that has pictures of us at that festival. Check it out at Central Coast Magazine.com.
I am excited to say that we will be back out on the west coast in August to play the San Jose Blues and Jazz fest. We will also be stopping on the way back to play in my home town of Farmington, NM.
I am also excited to be working with local Austin artists George Carver (Andrew Halbreich) and the Bluescrawlers. Both of these acts are top-notch and fun to work with.
On more of an international scene, I am proud to announce that one of the tunes I recorded with the Seth Walker Band "Without You" will be appearing on a tribute album with Willie Nelson and Dale Watson to name a few.
I hope you all have a great summer and I hope to see you at the shows!
